I believe that the term “cut off your nose to spite your face” is appropriate here.

I, like many other Mums, dropped one child at kinder and popped up to Coles at the plaza to grab a few things a little before 9am on Monday morning. The car park was closed. ‘

Now for quite a while the plaza has been closing off large sections of the carpark prior to 9am but the undercover carpark outside coles is the latest addition.  Security guards were there and I was informed it was to keep the shop employees from parking there to free up parking for the customers…of course customers weren’t allowed to park their either!

Now I’m sure safeway were thrilled as you could still park out the front of safeway and many people may have just gone there. I am stubborn and I waited the 10minutes til I was allowed to park my car. THEN I went to centre management to tell them exactly what I thought of their new car park policy.

I was given the number for the manager and advised to ring her. I completed my shopping then went home and rang. I was told she was actually AT Werribee not at the office I was given the number for. I left a message and now it is FRIDAY and no one has bothered to return my call.

Now I get that they don’t want the store employees to take up all the nearby parking but surely the customer comes first and closing the carparks outside the supermarkets which are open from early in the morning is just ridiculous.  To further accent this - a number of Coles staff (somewhat disgruntled) stated they would move their cars when the carpark re-opened.

I was told by the security guard in attendance that they could not police car park limits. Why not? surely policing the car park limits would be a better option for all than closing the carpark!
